Guests from the Lord’s Taveners enjoyed an evening of celebration and gin tasting at “Tiptree at Bond Street”.  Scott Goodfellow from Wilkin & Sons presented Paul Robin of the Lord’s Taverners with a cheque for £7,500, from fundraising efforts by staff and friends; they were thanked by Georgina Pryke of Thriftwood School Chelmsford who was delighted with the donation that would be used for a special project for the children.

After a welcome gin based cocktail there was a serious sampling session with Nicholas Cook, director general of The Gin Guild who guided people through the tasting of a number of interesting gins.  The growth of the gin market has stimulated more people to increase their knowledge of the history of gin, the range of simple and flavoured gins with ideas for serving: whether straight on ice or mixed with prosecco or a good tonic. Cheers!
