Traditional Stir Up Sunday at the end of every November was marked this year by a visit from Liana Bridges and Barry Lewis from “The Quest” programme on BBC Essex. They took an opportunity to meet customers and made a wish as they stirred the Cole’s special Christmas pudding.
In many homes every member of the family would be given an opportunity to stir the Christmas pudding and make a wish before it was cooked, then stored ready to be reheated on Christmas day. We were fortunate that Coles Puddings are made in a village just outside Saffron Walden so they could provide the special ingredients and big paddle.
