A Tiptree Coronation Tea Party fit for a King took place in the Secret Garden marquee on the eve of the Coronation when more than 60 guests, many in red, white and blue outfits enjoyed a very special afternoon tea. Welcomed with a glass of bubbly or a Pimm’s guests from across Essex and even the USA were seated under a canopy of flags and flowers.

Afternoon tea stands filled with sandwiches, home-made cakes and scones with Tiptree Little Scarlet Strawberry Conserve and clotted cream as well as the most delicious lemon mousse filled the tables. An amazing singer called Sarah Mai encouraged everyone to start the party with some traditional songs, she was a delight and a great entertainer.

“The months of planning were worth it and all our team enjoyed the opportunity to chat to every guest after tea, just before they left with a memento of the day,” said Aimee Smith Marketing Manager for the Tiptree tea rooms.

A surprise visitor at the start of the tea party was Russell Hookey who was filming Coronation events for ITV Anglia News and he interviewed Tiptree tea room manager Jade Spindler; guests could spot themselves on the news bulletin.
