Ingredients:

For the Burger:

  • 500g Beef mince
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Burger Assembly:

  • 4 Burger buns, buttered
  • Lettuce leaves
  • 2 Tomatoes, sliced
  • 4 slices of hot bacon
  • 4 slices of cheese (melted)
  • 1 Red onion, thinly sliced
  • Tiptree Tomato Ketchup

For the Potato Wedges:

  • 4 Large potatoes, cut into wedges
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Mixed herbs

For the Coleslaw:

  • 1/2 head of cabbage, finely shredded
  • 2 Carrots, grated
  • 1/2 Red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper to taste

      Instructions:

      1. Prepare the Burger:

      • In a large mixing bowl, combine the beef mince with salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
      • Form the mixture into 4 even-sized burger patties.

      2. Cook the Patties:

      • Preheat a hot plate or frying pan over medium-high heat. Sear the burger patties for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
      • Transfer the seared patties to a baking tray and finish cooking in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 10 minutes.

      3. Make the Potato Wedges:

      • Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
      • In a large bowl, toss the potato wedges with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and mixed herbs.
      • Spread the wedges on a baking tray in a single layer and bake for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and crispy.

      4. Prepare the Coleslaw:

      • In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, grated carrots, and chopped red onion. Add in  the mayonnaise, salt and pepper.

      5. Assemble the Burgers:

      • Butter the burger buns and lightly toast them on the hot plate or in the oven.
      • On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce, tomato slices, a burger patty, hot bacon, melted cheese, and red onion slices.
      • Drizzle Tiptree Tomato Ketchup over the top, then add the bun tops.

      6. Serve:

      • Plate the burgers with a side of crispy potato wedges and a generous helping of homemade coleslaw.
